I enjoyed looking through those, especially as I am thinking of doing a similar trip this year (funds permitting - none of my plans have worked out the past few years...!  ).

I think, you can easily make it working out: You take a ferry to Rotterdam, take the train to L

I need to work out the cheapest way of doing it. I am thinking of going via Harwich to Hook of Holland (there is a 'Dutch Flyer' deal one can get with Stena Line) and going on from there, via Rotterdam, Amsterdam or Utrecht, up to Hamburg then Travem
