Arya Pey

I am very new to this site - but excited to find photos of the vessel that I sailed on in 1971 - the 'Arya Pey' (at that time).  The picture taken by Chris Howell of this ship in Bremen on 6 September 1971 was only about 4 weeks after I had disembarked in Antwerp.
I joined the vessel in Goa, India. At that time it was transporting iron ore to Japan. The captain (Capt Brenke) and officers were German, the Engineers Filipino, and the crew from Chile.
I disembarked in Montreal Canada, re-embarked in Quebec a few weeks later and finally disembarked in Antwerp - to get back to medical studies in UK.
I had no idea that this ship was hit by a missile during Gulf war. I do know that it's main mast hit the bridge in Chicago causing substantial damage in summer of 1971 just after I got off.
I'd be very interested to hear of others who have sailed on this vessel - particularly if they were aboard at the same time as me.
