Balmoral IMO: 8506294
« on: April 09, 2012, 08:13:11 AM »
I understood that the Balmoral  IMO: 8506294 was retracing the route taken by the Titanic. The AIS site shows the Balmoral's route as straight down the English Channel and into the Irish Sea, therefore missing out the stop in Cherbourg, France. Can anyone shed any light on this?

This is a quote from their website:

Our voyage of a lifetime will sail from Southampton on 8th April 2012 the twelve night cruise on board the MS Balmoral and will follow the RMS Titanic's original itinerary, passing by Cherbourg on the French coast before calling into the Irish port of Cobh.

...explains missing Cherbourg...

Balmoral should appear again as she is in range off the east coast of Newfoundland while heading for Halifax. Use this live link to see her in Halifax Apr 16. On April 16th & 17th the Fred.Olsen and White Star Line House Flags will be flying from the Maritime Museum Mast. http://www.novascotiawebcams.com/halifax/maritime-museum.html
