"M/S Philippines" (ex Italia passenger ship "Augustus")
« on: October 14, 2011, 09:55:13 AM »
Just noticed that the former Italia Line Trans-Atlantic passenger ship "Augustus" has arrived today at Alang for demolition. For the past 12 years she has been the static casino/restaurant ship "M/S Philippines" in Manila Harbour until being sold for scrap last month.

Hope this is of interest to the classic ship afficionados !

Thanks Phil!
Such a shame, one of the last true beauties of the 1950ies. In another ten years we will probably see only four square blocks on the seas (Apart from a handful remaining museum ships).
Brgds,
Stefan
