ALGONTARIO towed to Turkey for scrapping
« on: June 04, 2011, 02:57:02 PM »
Bulker ALGONTARIO is probably the next one to leave Montreal for scrapping. According to the Port of Montreal website, ALGONTARIO is set to leave on June 25th and destination is unknown but is probably going to Aliaga, Turkey.

Tug PANTODYNAMOS is at the Port of Montreal and is set to leave on June 17th... it is most probably this tug that will tow ALGONTARIO to the scrapyard.

* Many thanks to Dennis and Alex for the information.

This is CANADIAN RANGER being towed to Aliaga at this time and not ALGONTARIO.

Photographed the tow yesterday morning (June 11) in my area.

The tug Herakles leaves towing the Algontario tomorrow morning June 27 at 4:00 AM according to the Port of Montreal Website.  The Herakles is the former British Coast Guard rescue tug Anglian Prince, which was sold due to budget cuts.

Cheers
Dennis

ALGONTARIO has just left Montreal at 6h30 EST. Tugs HERAKLES and TONY MACKAY are the tugs that will take ALGONTARIO at least until Les Escoumins.

As usual... please take pictures of their transit.

I couldn't take pictures of the trio since by the time they passed through Quebec City it was too dark.

Here are pictures that Jack2 took in Trois-Rivi
