Shipping as an economic indicator.
« on: October 25, 2008, 02:13:39 PM »
It is well known that shipping statistics are glued to economy .
And it might be detailed in sectors countries etc!

Bulk transport is usually in advance of trends.

Baltic dry index is one of the leading index.
See this blog!

Some parts of our hobby might be used for intelligence gathering.

Many of leading shipping operators rely on inside information.

Having, through our posts, a documented look at their timely moves in term of ships and schedules opens areas of  potential money speculations.

Any interesting stories on this subject?
