Seems like the tanker SAMOTHRAKY touched the sea bottom on 17 March 2007 east of Gibraltar when approaching the rock for crew changes on a loaded voyage from Libya to UK with fuel oil. She is now anchored at Gibraltar with a list to stb. No cargo spill reported.  Video. Picture.

Eletson is sending another of its product tankers to Gibraltar to lighter fuel oil from its vessel which grounded there last week.
The 46,700-dwt Serifopoulo (built 1995) will receive the cargo of 44,100 metric tons of fuel oil from the 46,500-dwt Samothraki (built 1989) which suffered ballast tank damage when it touched bottom on Saturday.
Temporary repairs have now been carried out on two of the three damaged tanks with the third not requiring immediate attention. The vessel
