Shipyard Reimerswaal moves to Vlissingen
« on: October 27, 2015, 04:37:16 PM »
Dutch dredger and general ship repairer Shipyard Reimerswaal is to move its entire business to the port of Vlissingen by early 2017. It will open a brand new yard along the Quarles Port in Zeeland Seaports' Vlissingen-Oost area.

Established in 1985, the yard is currently located on the bank of the South Beveland Canal, which connects the Eastern and Western Scheldt. With two floating docks, layby and repair berths, and a workshop, the yard repairs, refits and renovates seagoing vessels, inland navigation vessels, tugs, and dredgers.

Recent dredging contractor customers have included the four European majors, Boskalis, DEME, Jan De Nul, and Van Oord.

The yard also offers maintenance services according to the periodic schedules and regulations of such classification societies as Lloyds and Bureau Veritas, and its huge success over recent years has meant Reimerswaal has reached the limits of its capacity. The Beveland Canal's 5.5 m draught is also a major limiting factor.

Zeeland Seaports has offered a 30,000 m
