Clyde Link ferries
« on: April 28, 2012, 01:19:59 PM »
Does anyone know if these little ferries operated by Clyde Link have names? Not a lot of info on their website.

Attached photo taken at distance through torrential rain... hence quality  :)

Regards

Bob

Bad luck Bob. You should have gone on the second Wednesday in June - that's generally regarded as Summer around those parts.

Are you sure, Jimmy? I was told summer was on a Tuesday this year!

When Clyde Marine Motoring Ltd lost out on a new SPT tendering contract to operate the Gourock-Kilcreggan-Helensburgh Ferry Service after more than 30 years , new-boys Clydelink Ltd took over much to the disgust of local ferry users. The new company purchased the 'Island Princess' from Lymington and she was sailed up by a professional crew and went straight onto the service with no time to spare after her local Greenock MCA Inspection. The new service now omits Helensburgh Pier on the timetable.
