help ! challenger,helmwood

hi all i need help to locate two ships one is what my dad sailed on whitch is the helmwood of the franices fenwick shipping of newcastle it  was built in 1955 on the wear.and the other is  the itm challenger built 1985 on the wear sunderland and was the biggest self propelled crane at the time i think,can any one help ?

I assume that you mean France-Fenwick's collier "Helmwood"? That ship was scrapped many years ago so, unless you wan't to sort through some old razor blades or coke cans, you're not going to locate her in a hurry  :-)

As for the ITM Challenger, she's now called "McDermott DB50" and believed to be operating in the U.S. Gulf at the moment.

hi thanks for that .do you have any more info on the helemwood and france fenwick as live in sunderland. since the ship yards closed any info is hard to come by thats any thing to do with the ships and shipyards of the wear .as a boy seen many ships built here and would love to know what happend to some of them.can you help or point me in the right direction.
