I presume the vessel to be Cobelfret's Victorine what it's got to do with the picture of a Maersk boat is anybodes guess

Yes, well spotted Dumpieship.

.....And as for the BBC's reporting of the event. Well, it leaves a lot to be desired and is probably a good indication of how most of the 'news' that we hear (from them and others) is completely misreported. Its only when it relates to a subject that we may know a little about that it becomes apparent how wide of the mark these people are. And the scarey thing is, when its a subject we know nothing about we may be led into taking every word of it at face value!
