Saga Cruises/Saga Rose

Saga Cruises are not refitting Saga Rose ro SOLAS 2010 safety standards. She is to be replaced by Astoria (1981/18,591) and renamed Saga Pearl 2.

Astoria is leaving Transocean in April and will undergo extensive refit and enter service for Saga Cruises in November.

I don't think Saga Rose will end up at the breakers there is a lot of intrest in her especialy by one company who is intrested in refitting her to make her compliant and also several intrested parties about using her permanatley mored Hotel.

Hopefuly she will not see a knackers yard for some time yet.

As Glenn said she wouldn't be going to the breakers just yet, she is just to good of ship! she is a beautiful ship! why would they shorten what has been and still is going to be an awesome life to come :-)
