A HONG KONG vessel caught fire at Luojing Port in Shanghai's Baoshan District early this morning, but no casualties have been reported.

The second and the third floor of the ship were nearly destroyed before the fire was extinguished, according to port officials.

It was the first fire at Dock No. 4 at Luojing Port since operations began one year ago.

The 13,123-ton vessel named Pheaton had already unloaded its cargo by the time the fire started, the officials said.

The fire broke out on the second floor about 2am today, according to dock officials. Thick smoke was seen several stories high.

Sixteen fire engines were sent to battle the blaze.

Most of the Pheaton's crew is Chinese."

Hi Ken

Well that's reporters for you - perhaps this is how the general public would view the situation - floors/decks
