Upper reaches of the MSC.

Yesterday was one of the busiest days in the upper reaches of the Manchester ship canal for many years and as i write this post there are another 2 currently inward bound for Manchester.

Good news indeed and I think you might have two more due early next week with the ARKLOW REBEL and ARKLOW ROGUE both due MSC from Rouen.

I see that there is even an LPG tanker heading up the MSC this evening the GALE from Moerdijk.

Thanks for your comments, interest and observation on this topic.

Yes, 2 more Arklows, i was told there could be as many as 18 from the end of July in to September, i beleive this is down to a number of reasons, a good crop in France and a shut down at the plant at Seaforth docks in Liverpool.

GALE, a brand spanking new gas tanker for Partington, only the second one in the last 16 months, this is mainly because the gas is normally pumped from Stanlow but the plant at Carrington is so busy they are importing some more.

SCOT NAVIGATOR to Irlam wharf last week, this year could turn out to be the busiest for many years, long may it continue.
