There was a report of a plane crash in the Canary Islands by Airport Officials which eventually turned out to be a false alarm as it was a tugboat towing ship.
The incident unravelled after a local radio station broke the news that a passenger jet had landed on the water near Telde, Gran Canaria. IT went viral on twitter too. Nowadays social media makes it easy for information to travel to masses even before it has been confirmed.
