Historic ship's positions
« on: June 26, 2013, 04:42:44 PM »
Hi I have recently registered so not that familiar with this site but have in the past made the occasional foray into "www.marinetraffic.com" however I did not find the answer to my question :-

There is an element of tracking when enquiring about any one ship. Shipspotting shows a "trail".

But is there a facility or technique to track a particular ships position over one whole month ?

regards

John

Try this site:
http://www.sailwx.info/index.html
It often has data going back more than a month.

Thank you Kevin. Just the ticket and moreover this site provides the actual data log besides a handy chart.

Interestingly it can go even further back than a month.......you can collect all or any part of the ships track history. In my case I am interested in ms Rotterdam for this June but note it started sending data back in Jan 2005 !

http://www.sailwx.info/shiptrack/ was a most useful page.

Regards

John
