Do we know their program. They had come at Piraeus 4 years ago, during their Naval Academy "world tour"..

I write this because I don't know who are the basic admins and their emails...

Someone of the admins to tell these 2-3 members that post videos like throwing little rocks in the sea to slow down a bit ,because the video category becomes boring ... You get in the site..and you see the same and the same again... I don't write this because I post also myself a lot of videos , but because as the time passes and seeing same photos of same ship in the same place being posted without being deleted ...or what i said before with videos ,i feel a little dissapointed with the site even it is one of my favourite ones!! (for sure in my top10 of any category)...

In 2012-2013 it was reported that ex Tirrenia Capricorn would become a super luxury yacht.... Also I have read somewhere that it was towed from Tuzla to Croatia (probably Zadar) . Does anyone know what finally happened?? The only shipdatabase that  shows the ship as active and not dead is equasis...

Help and Advice / Re: shipspotting in Piraeus
« on: August 22, 2014, 09:40:14 AM »
Good morning to everyone!!
I copy my message that I have sent to a shipspotter regarding Shipsotting in my home port city

"
The best and safest spot in order to take photos is the "red lighthouse." The strange thing is that now there isn't any lighthouse since last November due to an alision with MSC Magnifica. In order to go there you can take the Piraeus Port authority buses every 15-30 minutes. These buses start at Gate E5 which is in front the Piraeus ISAP Line 1 train station. It will be very easy to recognise the point because many works are taking place due to Metro Line 3 station constructions . In Piraeus Port authority buses there are no tickets. This is the best place in order to go to take photos and in the same time to avoid any Coast guard officers who will tell you that taking photos is prohibited bla bla..."

Take care . You can take photos up from the Liberty also. but not near the building of Ministry of Maritime because there, there are also the Hellenic Coast Guard headquarters.
Moreover if during your visit at the port ,Golden Iris is berthed at Piraeus,it is better not to go near the area...Because there are many people without uniforms who are either security guards or hcg members ... I don't know why but Israeli ships always have some more security.
As I said before Red lighthouse does not exist anymore but you can go there, and now I can say it is easier to take photos there . For instance the manoeuvring of the big cruise ships is now easier to be photographed.

Ferries from Piraeus to Salamis and vice versa Every 1hour (or 30 minutes until 15.30 lt)
Ferries to Saronic Islands (many...you can say every 1,5 hour)

"this is pointless and we have an example today from Petros Psarras who appears to want the best of both worlds by publishing the same in both the Forum and the Video Category, this is not on."

If you mean my signature (as I understood from the pm) ,it's ok I changed it. But I cannot understand why I am referred as a "bad example" ... I said that from the time the Imo number is asked in order to upload a video, why can't the videos be listed in such a way as the ships photos... There are many video uploaders who had not uploaded even one photo... I,from my side, I had uploaded many photos...and thanks to all of you ( I mean it!) had a lot of views... That's why I prefer shispotting from marinetraffic.com... I think that our hobbie is more appreciated here due to best quality photos that are uploaded here.

I don't mind if my video has 0 or 10000 views here in shipspotting... I post it here because I like your site. But I don't like some people who disrespect our effort.

My videos are of medium quality...but I am angry when I see people disrespecting some excellent videos such as Fred Vloo's or Chrisg46's by uploading ....containers of videos :P

If we all want to keep shipspotting in no1 place in the ship photos galleries sites ,there must be mutual respect!! Between the members...and between the admins and the members..We are all the same....

When I post a video IMO number is asked so I think that fact will help the admins .  Also there are few members posting 20 videos per hour ! That 's madness! Shipspotting means photoshooting and videoshooting ships !! Not only photos!!

By the way merry Xmas to everyone ! Hohoho

Major operation by the Hellenic Coast Guard to locate 10 Syrian sailors (two were found dead) aboard a cargo ship that sank off the coast of Methoni at dawn Monday after a collision with another freighter.

It is the Piri Reis ( IMO: 7916727) cargo ship under a Cook Islands flag that had a total of 17 sailors from Syria and was carrying fertilizer.

Piri Reis collided for unknown reasons at 5:43 a.m. Monday with another freighter, Consouth ( IMO: 9145255), under an Antigua and Barbados flag with 16 sailors, all in good health.

The collision occurred 78km. southwest of the island of Sapienza on the south coast of Messinia.

Four sailing boats, two Coast Guard floaters, a C-130 aircraft and a Sikorski helicopter are involved in the operation for the locating of the 10 sailors.

The weather conditions in the area are good.

Shipping News and information / Photo deletion reasons!
« on: April 30, 2013, 02:42:10 PM »
Can i ask again the reasons a photo is considered for deletion?
For example..this one: http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/photo.php?lid=1793571

From everyangle you are going to take a photo of this ship..the crane exists!!How will we take the photo??

Also from the otherside there are 2 cargo ships laid up..so we cannot take a photo from the otherside..even if we are on board the Piraeus-Salamis little ship!!

Dear Admins,I think you might reconsider the reasons a photo is considered for deletion!!

After both being laid up for 5 and more years at Piraeus and Perama respectively , Panagia Agiasou (ΙΜΟ 7351848) and Makedonia (IMO 8822052) left for their final trip under towage. The weird thing is that the destination of both tugs (Aegeon Pelagos and Hector) is Alexandroupolis where another SAOS Ferries ship is laid up.The logic sense is that both vessels will go to Aliaga in the next days. I think that all non Greek shipspotters that have visited Piraeus and its suburbs ports may have wondered about these 2 ships and their fate..

I have filmed both ships last ever departure:
