Hi,

Can I ask that members regularly check their "Message In Boxes"

I have been trying to message  a couple of members and this form of contact seems to have got lost since the site change.

Also is it possible to add some sort of function whereby members can indicate if the are receptive to messages?

"The Golden Horizon, a sail ship operating for Tradewind Voyages, has been arrested in Dover, UK, according to multiple reports, at the request of Star Clippers, a Monaco-based cruise operator.

The ship had been originally designed and built at Brodosplit for Star Clippers, which did not take delivery of the vessel.

Court actions followed, awarding Star Clippers and Owner Mikael Kraft 13 million euro in damages, according to Croatian news reports.

Meanwhile the ship found a new home operating for start up company Tradewind Voyages.

"Star Clippers advised Brodosplit Group to settle its debt, after which the ship will be released immediately," Star Clipper said, in a prepared statement.

The ship owner will need to pay roughly seven million euro to release the ship, according to one report.

According to other media reports out of Croatia, the ship is registered to XB Ahts Hero Shipping from the Marshall Islands, which lists its director as Vedrana Debeljak, sister of Tomislav Debeljak, owner of Brodosplit and DIV Group.".

From Fred Olsen Facebook page:

"Many of our guests will recognise this beautiful figurehead, which originally featured on our 1947 vessel, Baldrian, from on board Boudicca. She has certainly cruised around the world a few times now!
The figurehead of a young lady with a skirt made of fishing nets will now take pride of place on Borealis, on deck 9 overlooking the aft of deck 8.
Welcome home...

25/09/2020:
"Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has found a buyer for the classic Black Watch and Boudicca ships as the company modernizes its fleet with the addition of the former Rotterdam and Amsterdam from Holland America Line.

The Black Watch and Boudicca will leave the Fred. Olsen fleet with immediate effect, and will not be scrapped, but instead serve as hotel ships.

The ships are believed to be heading to Miray International, according to sources speaking to Cruise Industry News on the condition of anonymity.

The Turkey-based company specializes in ship management and also providing accommodation vessels for large-scale projects. Miray did not return a request for more information.".

Having been anchored at various points around the South coast of the UK, Majesty of the Seas left Dover with AIS showing destination as Valletta. Moving closer to the beach?

"A recovery operation is under way after a cargo vessel carrying broken glass ran aground off the Kent coast.
The 75-metre Islay Trader became stuck near Margate Harbour about 30m (98ft) from shore shortly after 03:00 BST.
A coastguard spokeswoman said the fuel tanks had not been damaged and the risk to the environment was "very low".
The six crew are still on board and are preparing for an attempt to refloat and tow the vessel to safety with the assistance of a tug from Medway.
The Islay Trader, which had been heading to Antwerp, in Belgium, is stuck just a few feet away from the life-size Antony Gormley cast iron sculpture, which becomes visible about three hours before low tide in front of the Turner Contemporary gallery."
