Consultations and review of site standards / Size of image
« on: December 20, 2020, 10:40:17 PM »
I read:  Size of image should be   min. 768 x 768,  max  4.000 x 4.000 pix.

But tonight I got an "answer" when trying to post a picture:
"Photo resolution should be between (1024px x 768px) and (4000px x 4000px.

I think that one of these are correct, but which?

It  would be easier with the same requirement on number of pix. on both places.  Thank You.

I would suppose she has no cargo onboard.

She has been docked in Drammen, Norway for abt 2 years (+/-), due to problems.  Now probably sold.  Towed by Danisk tug HUNTER to Fredrikshavn, Denmark, probably for repair.  Arrival Fredrikshavn this evening.

Ship details, from  Marine Traffic.  She has probably changed from Maltese flag til another.

IMO: 9520431
MMSI: 249591000
Kallesignal: 9HA4304
Flagg: Malta [MT]
AIS Fart

Hong Kong flagged bulk carrier "Emerald Star",  built 2010,  57.367 t S DW, DIM: 190 x 32,26 meters,  IMO  9449261 and MMSI  477982700, seems to be the tragic ship in this case.

Perhaps "Your" ship asked for is now returning up the Red Sea to the Suez-Canal, according to Marine Traffic.  She seems perhaps to have been in port for abt. 12 hrs.  If You have seen her at Marine Traffic for some time, you will perhaps have registered her draught at different times, ahead of and after visiting the port You were interested in. At internet I think You will find details on that ship, incl. tables showing draught and  weight of cargo.......

Shipping News and information / Re: Saudi patrol boats transiting Kiel

Sorry, the route forecast on Marine Traffic was wrong.  I see she now is sailing a round the Skaw at a distance off abt.  6 nautival miles, so You have to have a very good camera, perhaps  long distance drone to get a picture of the deck cargo.

According to Marine Traffic  -  AIS,   her  route forecast is through  NOK ,  the Kiel Canal.  With speed and distance she perhaps is available for shot in the Canal tomorrow, Friday March 3rd.   Marine traffic will give and idea of her position.  I would like to see her deck cargo photographed.

Both Wikipedia  and  Warsailors  gives info about  SS Tordenskjold.  Look at those pages, incl. pictures.   Perhaps some details on some ot the pictures are similar. But I am not sure that timber was usual cargo on SS Tordenskjold.   Norwegian "DS" means "SS"             About  D/S Tordenskjold

Shipping News and information / Re: MarineTraffic not working??

For me in Norway Marine Traffic works OK  world wide, incl.  Antarctica.

Thanks for all good work done so we still can show our maritime pictures and videoes in this elegant way.

It is also a very great pleasure  to look at pictures and videoes, and in some cases comment on them. The range in ships age and types make SHIPSPOTTING very interesting and informative, esp. for me, not having much experience as sailor at all. But I use every opportunity to catch pics and videoes.

Best regards from cold Norway

An Ex-Royal Norwegian Navy auxiliary, "Horten" (named after the city in which she was built) have in February/March 2014 left Norway. She have for a few weeks been in Ramsgate/UK, converted to Fishery Patrol Wessel,  with UK flag, and with given owner/manager (unknown to me).  I wonder if she is going to that mission for UK,  or for what country/area?
