I have always said that the photos in the 'photos considered for deletion' should be hidden from the general membership. But then again ... it would be the same as have a holding period.

I can confirm that there is a 'holding period' after a picture has been uploaded since I have uploaded a few pictures today. The holding period is used to give a chance to the administrators to verify that the photo respects the site standards.

I personally think that it is a good idea. We, on Shipspotting.com, let all the pictures onto the site and then the admins verify the photos to make sure they respect the site standards. Hundreds of pictures are deleted every week after the fact where members get upset. Admins/webmasters have to deal with upset members and lose interest in doing the admin work.

Tanker JO SPIRIT ran aground earlier today near Montreal. The Saint-Lawrence Seaway traffic has been stopped while inspectors and crews prepare for the removal operations. No visible damage on ship.

They are welding a steel plate over the damaged hull and they are expecting to commence the tow late Saturday. The CCGS TELEOST will tow the CCGS ANN HARVEY to St.John's. The 300 nm should take 48 hours.

Hi all. I will be in Vancouver in the coming days. I'd like to know the best spots to go to take pictures of ships. Could someone please  give me that information?

Thank you,

Thank you sailorman78 for the update.

I area die home last night. It took 12 hours and we had the CCGS EDWARD CORNWALLIS escorting us. In the end, we could have done it on our own but because of the rules and regulations, an icebreaker must escort when there is ice.

Ok. Thanks Trucker.

It is confirmed. The CCGS CORNWALLIS is coming to Corner Brook to provide an escort to the APOLLO and the CCGS HENRY LARSEN is heading toward Blanc-Sablon. It will be there in case we have trouble in the midway point.

Onboard the APOLLO, a crew mate said that the CCGS TERRY FOX is out of St John's. Not confirmed though.
