Prelude FLNG is a very large floating liquefied natural gas project for Royal Dutch Shell she is not a FPSO as she is being used on a gas field .

This vessel is some size too and they are already planning to build a bigger one :- http://www.allseas.com/uk/19/

Dutch police have identified a body found on 19 December, 20 nautical miles west of IJmuiden, as that of the 31 year-old Polish first mate of the Baltic Ace, a RoRo that sank within minutes 5 December  2012 after colliding with container vessel Corvus J.

The body was found by a fisherman and then subsequently transferred to port by a rescue boat and handed over to the police who established positive fingerprint identification.

11 of 24 crewmembers were killed as a result and only 5 bodies were recovered immediately following the incident.  The positive identification by authorities of the first mate marks the sixth body recovered.

Salvage operations suspended

In phone call with Svitzer Salvage spokesperson Cor Radings, he noted the recovery and removal of oil from the Baltic Ace has been temporarily suspended.

Sister ship is Nordic Ace , I was looking at her last night when I got a call from Dianne who runs the Mission to Seafarers at South Shields , this vessel was here 3 times last month and used to call on average every 8 days . I am a ship visitor volunteer and we rreat these guys as good friends , such a tragic accident .
Visit our facebook page search " South Shields Seafarers Centre " There are some photos of the guys on there , dont know who is missing though !!!

So which "new" containership class is this, please enlighten us more?

Maersk have not ordered any newbuild containerships since 2008, when they ordered a series of 4500 teu panamaxes and another of 7450 teu post-panamaxes.

I imagine this is just a spurious rumour based on something that Maersk might be considering for the future.
Well done you were correct

She made it into drydock on the second attempt due to the shipyard calling off the first attempt due to the wind though pilot and tugs were happy to continue :-

Hi,
Still down for Friday on the Port of Tyne listing , but it also says "estimate ":-

http://www.portoftyne.co.uk/business-divisions/marine-and-environmental-services/shipping-movements/expected-shipping/

You will be in a better position to know the facts , look forward to seeing you when you arrive , dont know if you will have time for a bottle of "BROON Ale " as you will probably be in then straight out after discharge.

I think the only place you will be dredging will be off the Wash past the river humber, but I could be wrong.

A few years ago a place north of the river Blyth called "Newbiggin" had there beach recharged and this was where the vessel went for the sand.
