The Coastalwater is normally based in Dover where it took over duties from the Coralwater, Maybe it was on standby to offload fuel if needed?

Shipping News and information / Re: Dredging at Calais?

I sailed past the Curacau Pearl anchored off Calais last Monday and she had a dredger alongside at the time so quite possibly.

Have a very poor quality pic I think.

Stuck off Dover once for 5 hours in a force 9 as unable to enter the port, e eventually moved round the coast a little for shelter but for those hours all you had was screaming kids and folks throwing up.

We enjoy the ride, Had a few beers and a decent roast chicken meal on the house !

Not a good experience though.

Help and Advice / Re: Playback feature for AIS type sites?
« on: February 25, 2015, 08:42:01 PM »
Have a look here.....http://www.localizatodo.com/html5/     Click on the vessel and use sliding bar on the bottom of the map.

Thanks for the link, What I'm after is more of an overview of all ships in the area at a certain time as opposed to single vessels but that's a very good link, Thanks again

Help and Advice / Playback feature for AIS type sites?
« on: February 25, 2015, 07:48:33 PM »
With Shipfinder removing the playback feature from their website can anyone help as regards another site that provides this data please?

Using the Dover-Dunkerque route two or three times a month I found playback a very handy thing to identify ships seen during the crossing..

Have searched today but have failed to find anything.

Thanks and any help appreciated.

After a VERY long stay (January 2013)? at Shoreham in the UK the vessel Independent IMO: 8843874 has left in the last few days presumably being towed by the Dutch tug Barracuda which visited unless anyone knows different?
Sadly I didn't see the old girl go but I presume she has gone to meet her maker.

Help and Advice / Re: Videos not playing

I use a little player http://www.ilivid.com/

You can paste a youtube URL in the box and it automatically downloads the vids to your PC, Really handy little bit of kit for those who want to keep videos.

I noted the Rickmers Dubai anchored a few miles off Newhaven this afternoon which I thought a bit odd at the time, Now all becomes clear!

Help and Advice / Search facility on Marine Traffic website
« on: October 23, 2013, 07:11:12 PM »
I might be having a senior moment but when entering a vessels name into the search box on the new website it returns multiple answers, For example entering Grande Portogallo returns 253 vessels on 26 pages.

I cant seem to find a filter option to search just for that name rather than it returning every vessel with the word Grande in it.

Could this facility only be available for subscribers now?

Regards Rob
