Shipping News and information / Chemical tanker Antisana Safi hit the quay at Ruisbroek (Belgium)

Hi all,
In the late afternoon of Saturday March 15th the Panamese flagged chemical tanker ANTISANA SAFI - IMO: 8800779 loaded with phosphorus acid, hit the Prayon quay on the Seecanal Brussels-Scheldt at Ruisbroek (Belgium) when she was mooring after a short migration.
Her fuel tank have dammaged and 2000 L heay fuel were lost in the water.
The local fire departement closed the hole (leak) and clean up the sludge and oil pollution with a special foam.
All sailing activity was forbidden till Sunday evening.
The ship has built at 1989 and haven't a double bottom! :-x

Hi All,
03/10/2007: Zhen Hua 8 under detention at the port of Zeebrugge (B).
As was to be expected, when the heavy load carrier was shifted from berth 221 to 702, she is under detention again. Last year (16/03/2006) the vessel was placed under a 12 day long detention in Zeebrugge when she delivered new cranes for the APM terminal. In total there were 27 deficiencies, of them there were 7 grounds for detention. How long the Detention will be is unknown at this moment.

Two killed as wave strikes tanker FR8 Venture
Two men have died and a third has been airlifted to hospital after being hit by a huge wave on an oil tanker in the Pentland Firth.
