The famous Armement Dhellemmes from Concarneau(Brittany - France) has sold, during the mounth of january, the trawler Izoard to the Franco-Spanish fishing company Concerto-Baccara SARL, that operates two other units previously owned by the former Armement Nicot...

This beautiful fishing vessel of 34m long has been launched in 1981 in Constr.Mec.Normandie(Cherbourg) and was the oldest unit of Dhellemmes'fleet. Remaining under French flag, she would be registered in Bayonne(Pays Basque - France) and would be administered by Pronaval, whose director is Mr Zarza. This would rise to 11 the number of Franco-Spanish fishing vessels(9trawlers/2longliners) based in Ondarroa(Bizkaia, Euskadi - Spain).

Izoard would target all sea ground species, including anglerfish, with a crew of 10 men, all spanish but the skipper who would be french. Her home ports will be Ondarroa and Castletown(Cork - Eire). Her catches would be sold in La Rochelle(Charente-Maritime - France), as far as the most valuable species are concerned(net species, rays, ray-finned fishes), and in Spain for sardines or anglerfish.

Important rescue facilities were deployed in the night of Wednesday to Thursday next to Ouessant(Brittany - France) to recover a part of the crew of a trawler, Tourmalet, which ran aground on a rock some 200m off the coast.

According to the first elements of the investigation, the the trawler's skipper which was navigating towards his fishing zone would have admitted having nodded off while he ensured the watch on the footbridge.

Tourmalet, a beautiful vessel of 34 meters registered in Concarneau, managed however to take again the sea with the rising tide after having been failed in the passage of Fromveur, considered very perilous for navigation. It was transported to her home port after being taken in trailer by another trawler present on zone.
