Shipping News and information / Ships Damaged in Beirut Blast
« on: August 05, 2020, 09:02:30 AM »
A huge explosion in Beirut has left at least 70 dead, injured 2,700 others and has also significantly damaged the Orient Queen, which was docked in the port of Beirut.

The ship was seen in images on Tuesday evening listing significantly at her berth.

Local officials blamed the blast highly explosive materials stored in a warehouse in the port.

Typically sailing for locally-owned Abou Merhi Cruises, the 370-guest, 1989-built ship operated seasonally homeporting in Beirut.

Port calls typically included Marmaris, Kusadasi, Mykonos, Athens, Nafplio, Paros, and Rhodes, before sailing back to Beirut.

According to the news (https://www.cruiselawnews.com/2020/06/articles/disease/is-pullmantur-cruises-ending-operations/)

''There are rumors that all of the Pullmantur ships will be going to scrap. There is nothing substantiated at this point. All three ships, Sovereign (built in 1988), Horizon (1990), and Monarch (1991) and are relatively old and inefficient. The Monarch and the Sovereign (of the Seas) used to be in the Royal Caribbean fleet; the Horizon used to be operated by Celebrity Cruises. At the same time, several other people have informed me that two of Pullmantur

I have so many.
The shipyard's security put me in a room for an hour trying to learn why I was taking pictures in NY.
I felt down so many times, once I almost broke my leg.
I was chased by dogs, luckily, did not get bitten.
I got a traffic ticket because I slowed the car on the bridge.
Two drunk men wanted me to take their pictures which I did. They gave me their emails for me to send them which I did again.
What are your memories?
