Site related news, functions and modules / David Asprey - Thank You
« on: February 16, 2023, 06:21:09 PM »
Dear users of Shipspotting

It is my sad duty to announce the abdication of our webmaster, David Asprey. David has been webmaster since the passing of Ken Smith, initially as a member of a group of four webmasters, but since many years David carried out the tasks on his own.

His knowledge of the shipping scene, especially of the smallest of ships and his research qualities, have helped many of you in dealing with questions which seemed unanswerable. In his last year David was actively involved in the revamp of our site and put forward many valuable inputs. David has chosen to give up his function for personal reasons, giving absolute priority to his family life. I can only respect that and on behalf of all of you I want to wish him all the best for the future.

Best regards

Andre Brandao, Site owner

William,

All ShipTrax questions should be placed on the AirNav ShipTrax forum at:
http://www.airnavsystems.com/forum/index.php?board=7.0

That forum is moderated by a team of AirNav Systems support members and there you will find all users once the product is released.

Hi Kelvin

Tks for your point. There is a mistake with the page as Chris (Tarbat) is in Scotland, not in NY. Anyway he really mentioned what is written on the site's quotation! :-)
We will correct this ASAP.
Tks again.

Andre

Shipping News and information / Ship Schedules Site

One of the things I personally like to do is to know to which line container ships I photograph are assigned to. I usually visit the site of the ship operator company (Maersk, CMA-CGM, etc) but there are other sites with interesting information like:

http://www.oceanschedules.com

Feel free to share any other site with similar information.

Bob, having your own decoder and a dedicated Windows Software compared with watching traffic on a website could be compared to watching a football game on the field or at home on your TV.

The same question could be asked by thousands of RadarBox users who join the system every year: why buy a RadarBox unit if there are so many websites tracking aircraft nowadays?

With the ShipTrax software (which is based on AirNav's successful RadarBox software which has thousands of users nowadays) you will be able to do many things you could never do on the website you visit: you can keep a log of received ships, generate reports, create screen shots, generate alerts, run the software and track ships without being connected to the internet, generate filters, keep track of you own fleet.
