Sofrana Surville is heading to drydock. Her replacement is Baldur IMO 9470894. It will be interesting to see if she returns or goes the way of Sofrana Tourville.

ESL Zanzibar IMO 9470894 has been renamed Baldur.
She is to be chartered by Sofrana Shipping to replace Sofrana Surville on the NZ to Papua New Guinea schedule.

Sofrana Tourville has completed her drydock in China. She then loaded in Shenzen and sailed for Chittagong, where she is presently anchored. Not sure if she is returning to New Zealand.
She is now sailing for Bengal Bay Express Line between Chittagong, Singapore and Port Kelang. There has been no name change.

CMA CGM Fiordland is phasing out of the ANZEX service and will be replaced by APL Scotland IMO 9218662.

5
CMA CGM Dutch Harbour is phasing out of the PANZ service and transferring to the KIX service.
Her replacement is CMA CGM Marlin which is transferring from the KIX service to the PANZ service.
The swap will happen in Wellington from 21 to 27  April.

Cosco Shipping are replacing Norfolk with Cosco Auckland IMO 9484261 on the NZS schedule.

MSC have added MSC Santa Maria IMO 9290426 ex Maersk Durham to the Capricorn schedule.

Does anyone know what is happening with Coastal Bulk Shipping's Rangitata. She arrived in Auckland from Wellington on 18th November 2023 for annual survey. She had completed survey some time ago and been out to the Hauraki Gulf anchorages a couple of times for engine tests and compass adjustments etc. She has had several departure dates but these keep being put back. She was supposed to sail at midday today 2 April, but now it is "maybe" on the 15th April. I wouldn't have thought a small coastal shipping company could afford to have a vessel out of action fo so long.

More NPDL schedule changes:
Capitaine Magellan is returning from drydock and will replace Capitaine Wallis on the NOUVAPAC trade.
Capitaine Kupe is replacing NPDL California on the Tahiti & Tonga trade. The latter vessel is heading to drydock.
Southern Pearl is replacing Capitaine Kupe on the Tuvalu & Kiribati trade.
Capitaine Wallis is replacing Southern Pearl on the Wallis & Futuna trade.

AS Simone is phasing out of Maersk's Polaris schedule at Sydney on 14 March. This takes the service down to two vessels, Nicolai Maersk and Nordmass.

It appears that AS Simone is no longer phasing out. She sailed from Sydney to Suva anchorage before berthing and then returning to anchorage. She is now on her way to Auckland, where she will resume her Trans Tasman schedule.

As I said, in Auckland ships are not allowed to proceed under the bridge unless they have a two tug escort, to stop an incident like this from happening.

Container vessel Norfolk is phasing out of the KIX schedule for one round voyage. She will be replaced for this voyage by OOCL Nagoya.

This accident amazes me. Here in Auckland New Zealand we have a harbour bridge. Any ship wishing to go under the bridge to the upper harbour wharves must have a pilot, and tugs attached bow and stern. You would think they would do the same thing in a country as advanced as the USA.
