Congratulations to your first Cargo Cruise

If you understand german, you can have a look on my website www.micha2009.de.
I wrote trip reports of my 9 cargo cruises.
There you can also have look on lots of pictures of my trips.

On each trip i paid some beer and non-alcohol drinks for barbecue or crew party to say Thank You to the crew. It was always welcome.

If you can stay on the bridge during maneuvering, keep distance and don't disturb the crew and pilot. The will be happy with this.

If you stay on board in the ports, it is not allowed to stay outside on deck. Exception is outside the accomodation.

If you like to see the engine room, ask the chief engineer. He will arrange a guided tour.
Maybe he does it himself otherwise someone of the engine crew.

Be aware the crew is working on different watches, so most of the time someone will be sleeping. Maybe in the next cabin ;)
--> closed door: Do not disturb!

Have a nice trip!

If you have further questions, tell me. Maybe i can answer it.

Micha

Hello

The Lighthouse at the entrance of the harbour should be a good place (south side).
Have a look: http://micha2009.piranho.de/Frachtschiffsreisen/2010_MV_Helgaland/Tag%209/DSCF8170WS.jpg

I don't know the way how you can get there, but it should be for public.

I have seen it 2010 from ship and was not there, so no guarantee!

Help and Advice / Re: got 3 hours in Hamburg - what to do?
« on: May 24, 2010, 01:20:32 PM »
Hello polsteam

You can make a habour tour with the bigger tour ships. The ships will go into the Walterhofer Hafen with Eurogate on the rightside and Terminal Burchardkai on the leftside and also into Vorhafen with Terminal Tollerort and Bloom & Voss.

Or you can take the harbourferry 62 to Finkenwerder. You can leave at every station and can take pictures. The ferries leave every 15 minutes.

The roof of the Docklands building (ferry station Dockland) is a good place for photography.
From the ferry station Neumuehlen you have a good sight to the Athabaskakai of the Terminal Burchardkai.
I think the ferrystation Bubendeyufer is one of the best places for incoming or outgoing ships.

Harbourtour
Harbourferries

Have a nice day at Hamburg!

Greetings Micha
