Yes, many spectators went home after the third attempt, especially as by that time the heavens had opened and the rains descended. I suppose only the optimists, myself included were left but it was still quite a crowd!

Still we can all take another look at her as she departs the Tyne later this afternoon.

Thank you for the nice welcoming post Steve.
I did get in to watch it on the Royal Quays webcam.
I imagine there will be a number of people watching her depart, myself included.

I am so pleased on the last attempt that the ship entered the tyne.
The Captain was determined to enter, being from Wallsend originally. so it said on the radio just before.
I am also very lucky to live near the quays so had a walk down to get some pictures.
I did go to Tynemouth at 4.00pm yesterday, but left at 6.00pm thinking it was not to be. So happy on all fronts.
