Sometimes 3 if I am 'lucky' 😂

I also miss 3 photos (Seraya, Victory G and the Sandettie FC716999), is it wiser to wait until the end of the day, or should I upload them again?

Thanks for fixing the problem 😘

A remarkable scene, yesterday afternoon right in front of the Vlissingse Badstrand on the Westerschelde estuary. Container ship Valdivia seemed to be heading straight for the beach there, but she threw the helm just in time to continue sailing close to the beach.

The scene was captured on video and the images went viral on Facebook. It is not clear what went wrong on board, but the helmsman was able to intervene just in time. It was clear that the ship had gone out of the fairway.

According to Eric Adan, who deals with shipping traffic on the Westerschelde at the Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management, the ship was destined for the Steenbank to drop her pilot off there. The decision to go via the Sardijngeul passage and the Oostgat instead of Westrond was taken rather late. Because of the full ebb current this became a difficult manoeuvre in which the ship in the Sardijngeul passage came outside the buoy line and thus closer to the beach than normal. The ship was able to continue her voyage. The incident will be evaluated in the Commission Nautical Safety Scheldt Area."

The ship left the port of Antwerp at 15.49 hours and has Helsinki as final destination.

Large wave
The charm of the Badstrand is that visitors get a free view of passing ships, but that sometimes causes problems. Ships sailing close to the beach can cause large waves, which can sometimes surprise bathers with large amounts of water suddenly rising onto the beach.

Shipping News and information / Nice day out
« on: February 20, 2020, 03:31:21 PM »
Hope I translate it well, and that it's in the right topic, but have a nice day out:

Rotterdam will have no less than seven cruise ships in the port next summer on one day. The British shipping company Cruise & Maritime Voyages (CMV) is doing this to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Cruise Port Rotterdam.
"Rotterdam is happy and honoured to receive all CMV's ships at the same time. We are very happy and can't wait to see them all on the river", says Maj Elmar, director of Cruise Port Rotterdam.

The ships will sail consecutively to the heart of Rotterdam on 28 August 2021 at 09:00. After that, they will stay moored all day and leave the port at around 18:00.

"Rotterdammers and tourists are welcome to see the ships that day", writes the shipping company. There are also special festivities in the city.

All seven ships of the shipping company will sail in convoy: the new Amy Johnson, Columbus, Magellan, Marco Polo, Astor, Vasco da Gama and the new Ida Pfeiffer.

It's not like I'm going to look or walk especially for it, but if there happens to be one here in the harbour, I'd like to go and look, but that's hardly ever the case. If I'm in Hook of Holland for a day, and there's one of those toys passing by, I'll take some pictures :-)
