hello everyone,
i am on the the Tugs images page and i notice that there is no particular page number you have to keep scrolling down the page to keep on loading, well thats good and all but the next day i want to continue on where i left off and its basically back at the start again, so back down to scrolling again.
is there anyway i can set the page up so i can search from say page 5 and go from there, i used to like it as the old style where they have so many images listed per page and you can select how many pics to display per page.
thats the one main issue i have noticed while using the site, hopefully someone can give me an answer to a solution or ideas.
Tony.

Help and Advice / Re: Miramar
« on: April 11, 2023, 09:12:18 AM »
i would just buy the CD as one day the site may fail to even exist as they would have to pay to have the data on a server, i would have personally keep it on a archive site where you dont have to pay to have the info there and name it in his legacy. i myself would take on a task like him but i wouldnt take money in return as it should be a free thing for other avid shipspotters to look up without having to pay to see stuff, cause some people dont have free internet so they have to pay for the internet and then you have to pay for say amazon tv or google tv or netflicks and or say certain websites with image sets etc and then the costs keep on adding up, i have over the years added pics and data to mainly marinetraffic as i have on here but the admins thought the pics were garbage so i gave up there but where i add stuff i do it as a free service so others can look and even download my pics as long as its for them to look at and not use it to generate money.

it is a real grey area when it comes to data and who really owns it, id be worried having data and trying to sell it on fearing legal repercussions due to the data not being my personal property.

« on: April 10, 2023, 11:38:43 AM »
i am wondering about adding information in regards to where a particular vessel is built i have found info on where a tugbaot was built and on here the vessel is listed with pics etc but there is no builder listed or who owns it etc,
is there anyway if we ever come across a particular vessel that we can edit the details section and add in where she was built and who owns her??

any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Site related news, functions and modules / New features on site 👍
« on: October 23, 2022, 10:40:45 PM »
hello all,

Just doing a google on a vessel called Skandi Botafoga and saw a link to this site so having a look and scrolled down the bottom to see who bulit it as the regulars i.e. David etc, will comment on who built it and i see in the info section a builder listed and i was very shocked as its been maybe 9 or 10 years ago when Grosstonnage.com used to host the info on the vessels.

Used to love coming here to search on the vessels that were built by particular yards, it was a shame that grosstonnage.com couldn't have been revived but fast forward to now and i see they have info about builder etc again and am i so grateful to see that again as i used to mainly use this all the time when i was online and when the info went it sort of made me move away and look elsewhere id still come on here and post etc but not as often.

is there a new company that supplies the info now ( ship xplorer?? )

so excited to see builders info is now back.

keep up all the great Work Guys.

Tony.

Tony here,

Id like to thank the people involved with returning of the shipbuilders info etc, they used to have it here but the owner had to let it go back almost 10 years back and back then you could look at all vessels built by the builder of a particular vessel and every vessel that has a pic would be displayed, i have only just come back on here and found out this info is back again.

this site is now very very good again, always liked looking at ships built by particular vessels, i got depressed when the info back years ago went. i think the supplier of the info was grosstonnage.com

a big thumbs up again 👍

another website that has changed. i have noticed that when a website is changed to a new platform it just does not seen the same like its lost something many sites i visit has changed completely over the past few years most of them just terrible and i gave up on using them.

i think the old site was the best it was easy to use and it was what everyone was used to, i dont know why sites have to change is it no longer able to be run as it is hence why they change.
i just dont know if im gonna really use this site anymore now its all over the place and the format is terrible, i think i would have kept it as it was dont change something if it is running fine.

so the new site is a no for me, im sure others will think the same.

such a shame.

oh thanks for that guys, i have been looking for that info for 4 years i had originally had a thread on shipsnostalgia.com that has been there since 2013, i would try to find info about it but after a week id give in and left the thread running, and only yesterday i watched the movie again and thought of another fews search ideas, but would have never found out the info you supplied as i was looking for a sister vessel, if she had one that is.

that is old by the way.

Thanks again skull17 and david ships.

well i contacted Timsen via vesseltracker.com
the message i received back is as follows.

It was reported by Piet Sinke in his newsclippings which seems to be quite reliable news, especially regarding the latest report which has a larger probability than the initial salvage report which seemed to have based on old AIS data.
Best regards
Tim

so it seems she is back in deep water and not beached no longer.

so does anyone know of whats happening.

yeah i see that derek,
but info is still listed, i think what has happened the data has been copied from grosstonnage.com and entered in on their database.

i have been using a site called maritime-connector.com, it has the builder of most vessels listed also the date it was built and it has a link going back to shipspotting.com for larger image.

maybe info could be shared from maritime-connector.com to shipspotting.com
