Hi,

I'm new to the site, and first things first, I like it here. Something that rather bugs me though is how the "profile" page when you click your username at the top shows your e-mail address publicy. It needs to be stored somewhere in the system of course for people being able to contact me, or when you forget your password and all that, but publicly, in full, for everybody to see... it doesn't feel comfortable at all to me. Seeing this, I've put it a fake address in there for the time being.

However, yesterday I looked at the profile of a few other users, and saw that some of them had the e-mail address hidden. Unfortunately, I can't find the setting in the profile/account settings where I can choose to hide the address, so I'd be grateful for advice how to do that.

Also, and please take this as a suggestion rather than a complaint, but frankly: Defaulting this in a way that doesn't even require a database breach or something to leak everybody's email address is a bit of a blunder in cybersecurity. Maybe the admins here should consider doing it the other way round. Giving users the option to show their address, but having that turned off by default.
