A little activity in Torbay/Lyme Bay over the last 24 hours.
The United States Military Command Ro Ro/Container Ship
'USNS 2nd LT JOHN.P.BOBO' arrived and anchored for which I presume is a recreational stay of some period as Several Garbage skips were taken out to her this morning by Pilot Launch. (These ships of the MPS SQUADRON ONE Call from time to time for this purpose)

NYK SIRIUS Arrived empty of boxes yesterday from Southampton and anchored in the 'Box' for which I presume will be a lengthy stay.

Box vessel  'SEALAND PERFORMANCE' Has left the  Deep Water Anchorage this morning, boarded the local Pilot and now looks as though she will be re anchoring within the Torbay Inner Anchorage at Alpha or Bravo....so good opportunities for any photographers.

Also was on BBC & ITV local news this evening with reporter on Brixham Pilot Cutter doing the report..some real good shots..but sadly not in a position to record.         There is also a story in the local rag (Herald Express..can be viewed on ....this is south devon.co.uk )  this evening.         There is some local concern as to why there is no 'ETV' Stationed in Torbay in case of Anchor drag in an easterly gale....my concern would be anchor chain fatigue in the view of such a long anchorage period..(Witherbys Anchors & Anchorwork Publication makes interesting reading!!)

Looks like another VLCC bound for The Deep Sea Anchorage in Lyme Bay for  floating storage..maybe?......'ALMIZAN STAR' IMO..9384215 Due 2230 13/03/09....AIS Destination showing Brixham so on the other hand she may be just picking up the Deep Sea Pilot there and then re-adjusting her destination to Rotterdam?.....(Now adjusted ETA for Brixham as 0100.. 14/03/09)
UPDATE....Vessel boarded Deep Sea Pilot Off Brixham at 2359 local..and proceeding East...still showing Brixham but no doubt bound to R'Dam.

Well the good old lady seems to have found a higher gear as AIS tells me she is doing over 9 knots as she comes abeam of St Catherines.(1415)..unless she has found some very strong following tide.
Could it be that she is towing some Gear for the final assault on the remains of the 'Napoli' (i think the new contactors are due to start soon.
