Brazilian Reefer and Summer Meadow were tied up alongside each other whilst laid up on the Upper Fal.
Summer Meadow is due to leave Falmouth today (25/11/14)

When you are near the elevated walkway you are within walking distance of the Marina and just up the road there are small boat yards and areas where the locals keep their boats. There are usually  large luxury yachts in the Marina.
You will be just around the bay from Puerto Pollensa which also has a large marina.

Good points you bring up, special the "pressure" situation. It is in the end all about money and keeping your job. Take the risk and 99 out of 100 times it works,,but that one time not you are within minutes a reckless pilot and/or captain.
The peoples who really creating the situations are seldom talked off afterwards and
for sure bringing then statements how carefull they evaluated,, blablabla
