Yes, me too Bob, but we have to accept that those old ladies were really getting on in years. They really were due to be replaced (corona virus or not). I do look forward to experiencing BOREALIA and BOLETTE.

Yes indeed, they could have done that but perhaps, having just bought several other cruise ships they decided they just did not need another one.

Sending vessels to the scrapyards is one thing, but if Carnival is going to waste a lot of money during the pandemic transferring cruise ships from Princess to P&O Australia, I can't support them anymore. I can't, especially when they waste money during these times. Why not wait until after the pandemic, they're too impatient. I rather see them get scrapped than transfered during the pandemic. I'm sorry, but it's tough for me.

I would imagine that they need to show confidence in the future and also to show commitment to a market from which they had already withdrawn ships from and to be ready for the time when ships can begin cruising again.

Just a small point. Whilst the ship did indeed carry the name Sitmar FairMajesty she never sailed as such. Before she was completed P&O acquired Princess Cruises and Sitmar FairMajesty became a Princess Cruises vessel upon her entry into service, Sitmar having been wiped from existence by P&O - to their shame.

The Carnival Corporation has sold P&O Australia's Pacific Aria (ex Ryndam) to Greek shipowner Marios Iliopoulos, best known for his ferry company Seajets.

It has been confirmed that the buyer of Vasco Da Gama is a Portuguese river and expedition cruise operator, Mystic Invest. They claim their intention is to deploy the ship either in the UK or German cruise market. This of course is how CMV employed the ship, though mainly in the German market. So I'm wondering if we are not beginning to see the revival of CMV.

No news yet who has bought her but I've heard that Phoenix Reisen has sold Albatros and that she will become an hotel ship.

I'd take the news on the Boudicca & Black Watch being accomodation vessels with a massive pinch of salt - it looks to me like a smokescreen until they hit the beach but time will tell.

We just have to wait and see.

As it was reported that they were both being stripped of all useful items, including teak decking, the idea of them being used as accommodation vessels does seem unlikely.

My informant tells me that Peace Boat has bought Sun Princess. Princess Cruises has informed passengers booked on both Sun Princess and Sea Princess that the ships have been sold.
Peace Boat had bought Zenith last year - not chartered her. She is presently at Lavrion, so not very far from Aliaga. If Peace Boat sells her it will be at a considerable loss. However, they have little choice as they do not want to operate more than one ship.

I understand that the two Princess Cruises ships, Sun Princess and Sea Princess have been sold. Sun Princess is to become the 'new' Peace Boat ship and they will operate just her. There is no indication to whom Sea Princess has been sold.
