"Somnium Vitae" ,translates on Google as "Lifes Dream",what a fantastic name. Named by the owner?captain?
Assume the car down aft is his pride and joy,not part of the scrap cargo.

"Alligator Pond" ,IMO 8007511.
Remember seeing her a few times in the English Channel around the year 2000.The name was unusual and for her she seemed to be in strange waters.
Wondered if anyone knows why she was operating around here in those days, and also if there is a photo of her with that name?

A fourth, the "Havila Phoenix" is now at Dover,in addition to the three mentioned in my first post.

Thanks Aquizard, pretty serious, surprised it didn't seem to make the newspapers.

Remember ,after the collision, the Saga bulker was anchored ,(as shown in the photo),roughly in the same position.
Assume to avoid the problem with anchors, this is one of the main reasons why cables are buried in a trench.Out of interest any ideas on the depth of the trenches, not deep enough in this case?
I see on the charts cables are shown, with prohibited anchoring around.

Many thanks for the info Davidships, fairly big repair job-3 months.
Maybe caused by the bulker losing power and colliding with a rock barge a little while ago.

Siem N -Sea,Olympic Triton,Normand Flower, all at anchor today together with the tug Afon Cefni.Siem N-Sea has been there for a couple of weeks now, with one or two other off-shore vessels anchored with her from time to time.
Wondered if anyone knows what's going on?

Understand these bulkers are bringing in rock from Norway for new port contruction ,seems a bit more logical.

Thanks Charles.Presumably these bulkers are loading dredged material direct from the dredgers, any idea where it is finally discharged and disposed of?
Colin.

On AIS the hopper barges "Le Sphinx" and "Le Guerrier" seem to be working with the bulkers "Bontrup Pearl" and the "Curacau Pearl".Seems interesting ,is this really the case?

She certainly gets around for her age.Any ideas if for any specific reason she has that "crows nest",it's a bit unusual isn't it ?

Wonder if there are many old cargo stowage plans around, made on board for each voyage?
Have a couple for a liberty ship, dangerous drums of chemicals ,corrosives etc always stowed on deck.
