Help and Advice / Re: Drone photo

I believe that there are some pro-level drones to which you can add your own camera, but these are very expensive. As mentioned above, consumer drones have built in cameras. From what I read online, DJI models are most popular.

Hi,

This could be a message from your browser. I read that Google Chrome now warns you if the password you are using for a certain website has been leaked online somewhere in a previous hack. This is to warn you about this and to encourage you to change it.

More information can be found in this excellent article by The Verge:
https://www.theverge.com/2019/12/10/21004434/google-chrome-79-password-protections-security-stolen-password-data-features

Many password managers are available these days, which you can use to generate a unique password for every website. Many of these apps are free or built in to a browser or operating system.

Kind regards
Cedric

Does anyone have tips or tricks on how to avoid haze in pictures? I take quite a few pictures of cruise ships turning in the port of Zeebrugge before putting to sea using my Nikon D3300 and Tamron 18-200mm lens. During the summer, pictures tend to come out quite hazy as you can see on the example below.
I don't know if any editing can help this (I don't have much experience with Lightroom) or perhaps if a filter is more suitable (I have never used those).

Thanks for your input.

Gcaptain also has some pictures of the ship in daylight. Seems like she has developed a sizable list.

Shipping News and information / New lock in Zeebrugge
« on: December 22, 2018, 09:53:58 AM »
The port of Zeebrugge is due to get a second lock to connect the tidal part of the port to the non tidal part of the port. The new lock will be 427m long, 55m wide and 18.5m deep. The new lock will be built in the place of the old 1905 built Visart lock which is way too small for current ships.

The now lock will cost around

Apparently there was an engine room fire onboard Grimaldi's CRUISE AUSONIA (ex SUPERFAST XII). Fortunately, no casualties have been reported so far.

Hi all,

As mentioned here a few pages back, the "not secure" banners in your browser only mean that this website is not using the https protocol. The technical team is working on this, but since it is a pretty big operation this may take some time. The banner "not secure" is therefor not really a problem or safety problem with the website as such, only that traffic between your computer and the shipspotting.com server is not encrypted. This is not a major issue since no financial or confidential information is exchanged here.

I hope this makes things clearer for everyone.

Kind regards
Cedric
