Shipping News and information / ROLNIK IS SOLD
« on: May 31, 2008, 06:47:38 PM »
Hello,

It is grievous message for me, that ROLNIK (Polsteam) - IMO 7361544 is sold.
The buyer is Italian Owner PALSTEK SHIPPING Inc.
The new name of her is:  ROLN.

Something remains after Rolnik in her new name!

ROLNIK (ROLN) is in the drydock of  GSR at Gdańsk now.
After 7-10 days she will start to her new life.
The new captain and crew is Polish, but not from Polsteam.

Rolnik was the oldest vessel in Polsteam fleet, built in 1975 in Schlichting Werft in Travemunde (Germany).
She has more than 600 cruises in Polsteam from 1975 to 2008 and I think she is in very good condition.
I hope she will work more years.

I was first time on Rolnik at 1976 and I know her perfectly. SHe was my first ship.
I have dismissed ROLNIK yesterday and probably I will have no more chance to stay on her deck and to see this vessel.

I HAVE A GREAT REQUEST TO YOU. If you will see ROLN anywhere, please take a shot of her and post on the shipspotting.
It is very important for me.

Best regards,
Mark.

Hello,

Huta Zgoda, as I know, was sold after her last trip to Safi (under Polsteam flag). The new owner is from Syria.

She is the sister of Rolnik.
Now Rolnik is the last ship from this serie of 7 vessels in Polsteam, built at Schlichting-Verft Lubeck-Travemunde.

Do you know the new name of Huta Zgoda?

Hello Dear Ship Posters,

I would like to immortalize my favourite Polish ship - m/v ROLNIK (Polsteam). I've spent on her a few nice years and I love this ship:-)

If you would like to get some information abuot her, please look at my shots of Rolnik, for example:
http://www.shipspotting.com/modules/myalbum/photo.php?lid=166349
or the shot taken by Freger65:
http://www.shipspotting.com/modules/myalbum/photo.php?lid=168035

Well, I would like to commission somebody to build a scale model of this ship.
But I would like to have very realistic, truthful model.

Maybe you know, if there are some people or firms, where I would order biulding of this model?

And the second important question: what is the price of such model?
I will be very grateful for informations.

Best regards,
Mark.

Shipping News and information / Re: Home for retired ships?
« on: February 05, 2006, 12:37:56 PM »
It is very interesting idea, but I think - very expensive.
But there are some ships, which are the museum now.
For example Polish Sołdek, Błyskawica, Dar Pomorza.

Shipping News and information / Re: Collision on Kiel-Canal
« on: February 05, 2006, 12:36:10 PM »
I have never found on the web a special website concerned to ships collision in Kiel Kanal.
It would be very interesting!

It is truth, that there were a lot of collisions, for example Heinrich Heine vs. Maataram, Wygozero, and many others.
As I know, sometimes they are caused by pilot mistakes.

Regards,
MJK.

It's truth, Msport.

I gues, everything is for everybody, alcohol too.

But everybody should know: when, where and when stop.
That's all.
Everything, we do, demands some rationality.

MJK.

I think, every captain must respect himself and his crew, his profession.
I couldn't imagine myself drunken on the bridge!
It is profanation of the captain's profession to be drunken and navigate the ship.

Like a drunken surgeon, plane pilot, driver etc.

I know about accidents caused by drunken seamen.
Drunken seamen sometimes are on tankers, tall ships, bulkers, fishing vessels...
In most of these accidents these non-professional captains and sailors had lost diplomas, were degraded.

Drunken captain has no estime of his crew.

Best regards,
MJK.

Shipping News and information / Re: another collision of "Grot Rowecki"
« on: February 02, 2006, 12:14:50 AM »
Hi,
If the question was adressed to me, I can tell you, that I've spent more than 20 years on the sea (on the ship's bridge):-)
So, I know these problems very well.
In my opinion, every captain should do everything he can to avoid the collision.

It's truth, that 90%  of collision and casualties are caused by the human errors.
A lot of mates are fascinated in GPS, but I always telling him: what would you do, when GPS will be shut off?
But I can't present my opinion about collision of ECE and GROT-ROWECKI, because I don't know anything about it.

Regards,
MJK.

Some ships haven't any serious collision during 30-40 years... The are called "lucky ships".

The others sink on first or second travel, for example Polish Koronowo or Titanic.

And the others have a serious collision once, but next years they work without collision (for example: Kościerzyna, Norwegian Dream).

What are the reasons? I don't know.
It's life.

Regards,
MJK.
