"Fotojoe", are you sure, your information is right or does apply only to some CERTAIN ports ?

It's allowed to paint in Antwerp. We tell our captains as long as they don't paint the water there is no problem  :-D

That, to me, is the best analogy yet in summary of the incessant, paranoid  whingeing about copyright breaches that make this forum so mind-numbingly boring and hardly worth looking at!

Hey BobS,

To read the messages, you have to click on the topics with titles like "Copyright Policy -  Stolen Photos by www.denizhaber.com.tr - ...".
In 80% of the cases, I already know what the topic is about and if I don't want to read them, I don't click on the titles

If you have a problem with some forummembers who find stolen photos from themself of other members, it's your problem, but I find it good they mention it. This is one of the biggest international shippingwebsites and we should talk about everything. From camera's and quality of photo's to accidents or other shippingnews.

What should this website be without photo's??? Nothing, same as a forum without ship enthusiasts.

But maybe we should bring all topics about copyright we have already to only 1 topic.

Trip reports / Tall Ship Race 2010 - Antwerp
« on: January 24, 2010, 09:02:15 AM »
The Tall Ship Races are coming back to Antwerp.
I have a meeting this week for a special deal for a hotel in Antwerp. Everybody who likes to join can have a special spottersprice.

I'm also planning a small boat to leave from Terneuzen and go direction Flushing/Pilotstation in hope to see vessels arriving with sails up.
Boat can take 60 people and maybe we can have a bbq on board during the trip. For 80% I will have an AIS Station on board so we can see what's coming.

Let me know (by PM) who likes to join the hole weekend (including hotel) and who likes to join only the boattrip.

Will revert with prices asap.

Does anybody knows what our 'legal rights' are in these cases of photo abuse?
Can we do something?? Do we have rights because the vessel is owned by the company who's using our pictures.

" Stolen photo's and copyright abuse"

Thanks for making the topic sticky anyways ! This might be a good thing, if we can't have an own forum on this and it is respected.

Peter and @ll,
the removed watermark is clearly to be seen. The  webmaster from Crystal Pool must have seen it, and if there is some doubt keep the finger away.

Hoping to spot a weekend in march at the Kielcanal.

Never been there, so don't know where to start.
