Hello Brian

Funchal was build on Helsingoer shipyard in Denmark.
The construction drawings can probably be found on the Danish Maritime Museum in Helsingoer.

Hello Axel
Tha  DFDS has published some book about the companys ships and history.
You can find and order the books on the website
http://dfds.com/DFDSGROUP/EN/Top_Navigation/Order/books/

The first mentioned book" DFDS 1991 - 2006 - Ship development continues"
contains information about the most of the passenger ships in the company.
There are a lot of general plans of the most of the ships.
Winston Churchil is mentioned,  there are only few plans of the ship, but there are a lot of nice photos.DFDS have had 3 ships with the name Dana Sirena .There are general plans of some of them.

Torm is an old well established danish shipping company.

Here is a link to the companys own description of the ship.

http://www.torm.dk/internet/front.nsf/vDOC/8996DD33F24782D8C1256DC0004FBE85?OpenDocument.

Do anybody know anything about the other ship and its owners?

Hello Andreas

It is maybe possible to get some help from the shipyard, but do not expect to much. It is hardworking company trying to earn money.

Another possibility is the danish maritime museum in Helsingoer.

The museum has an digatal archive with 22000 pictures
