Shipping News and information / New Order for Meyer
« on: July 16, 2013, 04:27:47 PM »
Norwegian Cruise Line today confirmed an order for a second 163 000 tons vessel in the 4,200-passenger Breakaway Plus series to built by the famous, Papenburg (Germany) based Yard to be deliverd in spring 2017.
The new Breakaway Plus ships will be about 10% larger than Norwegian's just-unveiled Norwegian Breakaway and sister ship Norwegian Getaway, which also is under construction at the Meyer Werft shipyard.
The new vessels will cost approximately 700 million euros.

I'm afraid, Jens, it's a bad news for both companies, but  presumable a good one for one of the share holders to be able now to sell for a higher price.

Denis, there are some tugs with the same name. Atlantic IMO 7360679 was built in 1975, therefore it's impossible for her towing the Hanseatic in 1966. I think, you will be succesfull to find her taking the site of the Hamburg based Bugsier Company. Good luck.

is willing to help Sietas with the tax payers' money.

Yes, Jens, with the german tax payers money it would be better to rescue sietas than banks in greece and very rich people there who spend their money to buy houses in London or to take the money taxfree to luxembourg or bahamas. It's a pity with the german so called gouvernment.
