Title: BERGE PACIFIC ex IRON PACIFIC on route to Alang
Post by: Peter Karberg on July 26, 2011, 01:52:58 PM
Hi guys

Just found out that BERGE PACIFIC (ex IRON PACIFIC) built Feb 1986, 231,851DWT is on her way to Alang to be scrapped. This follows her final commercial voyage from Guaiba to Qingdao via Singapore.

She was originally built to carry iron ore & coal for the then BHP Transport and was the largest vessel to work the Australian coast at the time.

Regards

Peter

Yes indeed, she was reported sold for scrap a few weeks ago:

Sad occasion, I thought she was a nice-looking vessel. Her twin funnels made her stand out from the crowd. I wonder how long fleetmate BERGE STAHL (also a 1986 build) will carry on...

Brgds.
