From NorthLink's website:
M.V. Hrossey departed at 19:00 sailing for Aberdeen but due to a technical fault is returning to Lerwick ETA midnight. Potential cancellation of this sailing.
She berthed in the town centre (Victoria Pier) at 23:45Hrs, not on her usual berth at the ferry terminal....very strange?
Wonder what the technical gremlin is?

To update what happened to the Hrossey last night, it appears that the vessel suffered total engine failure halfway between Sumburgh Head and Fair Isle.
After getting the engine re-started, the bow thrusters were found to be out of action, so with the blustery weather at the time the decision was taken to head back to Lerwick.
The Hrossey's own engineers worked overnight on the problem, and she left Lerwick at 05:30Hrs bound for Aberdeen.

I had a friend onboard who called me at about 11 oclock last night and informed me that they had been "bobbing about" for about an hour with no lights or anything. She does tend to exaggerate though.
I'm guessing she went into Victoria Pier to save having to move her again at 5.30 this morning when the Norrona was due to dock,
Incidently I notice the Norrona tried to berth in Lerwick this morning but gave up due to the high winds. The Hjaltland overtook her on the way in. The Norrona, Hjaltland and Hrossey all off Mousa at one point, would have been a good photo!

Thats her just about to dock in Aberdeen, just a wee bit late :)
