Title: Solent Towage & Svitzer Marine
Post by: Robert J Smith on June 04, 2018, 12:46:18 PM
Is Solent Towage at Southampton now working with Svitzer Marine? Just noted Solent's LOMAX working with SVITZER LONDON at London Gateway.

Just finishing berthing BUXCLIFF at London Gateway, so probably on her way before too long.
LOMAX showing ETA Southampton 1300L 5/6.

Possibly a requirement to be added to the list of Licensed ship handling tugs within the PLA area.
She has been included in the latest list dated today

Murcurius did a similar thing a short while ago, handled a couple of ships then returned to her home port.

Lomax is often seen lurking around Southampton Container Terminal so one would assume this 'partnership' has been on for a while now. I imagine it is typical Svitzer trying to muscle KotugSmit out of the picture.
