Title: bulker Phoenix Sun, IMO 8506529 leaving Canada after being stranded for2.5 years

bulker Phoenix Sun, IMO 8506529 scheduled to leave Sorel-Tracy, Canada with fresh crew of 17 Indian sailers for Dubai, after having been stranded in Canada for 2.5 years. Vessel will be renamed Phoenix, after the bird rising out of its own ashes.

sad story indeed;
cheap crew replaced by an even cheaper one.
all non-union of course....
new owners picked up this vessel for a song anyway.

Looking at MarineTraffic Live Ships Map (http://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/home/oldshipid:382563/oldmmsi:341815000/olddate:2015-05-24%2001%3A52%3A00/zoom:9/_:90a3ded7a045dd6e240a4f2006ddf88d) it shows the Phoenix Sun at Quebec City as at May 24, 2015 at UTC 00:52 which is a long way from Suez.

Is the Marine Traffic website not great for up to date tracking? Is there a better website to use for tracking?

Well,

When I wrote that the Phoenix arrival was at the end of june in Dubai, I am now glad that I did not specified 2015 as the year of arrival. ;)

Auction sale in November 2014 was to a demolition buyer for eventual scrapping in India. It will be interesting to see what happens after Dubai - or if that destination is by-passed altogether.

Any recent news? Latest news I heard the ship was stuck in Quebec City, but it seems to be gone now and I have heard nothing about her departure, except that she was banned from Paris MoU.
