Government Calling for Bids on Labrador Ferry Service
VOCM News

Tenders have been called for ferry operations in Labrador. The provincial
government has issued four tenders to provide operation of the Northern Ranger,
the Sir Robert Bond and a freight vessel for the North Coast, as well as for
shore-based operations involving ticketing and reservation services. Each
contract will be for a five-year period, with the exception of the Sir Robert
Bond which is for three-years. Minister of Transportation and Works Tom
Hedderson says the goal is to have all contracts in place before next season to
ensure a seamless service.
