I personally have no problem with the spelling/pronunciation of the Norwegian harbours (note the proper, non-American spelling) mentioned by Mijnheer Inpijn so don't think any change is needed in that respect. Neither the Dutch nor English languages use accents but I am sure we can all get our heads round that!

I received my disc. It is Microsoft Access, which I already use. It is useful in that it can be updated. I also renewed my sub to the website, which is much easier to use than the disc. However, if the website ends I have all its info at hand.

Has ANYONE (especially among members in New Zealand) had any info about Miramar, other than what has already appeared here. Weren't some NZ members of the WSS involved with Mr Hayward's site? Can't they advise?

Buying the CD is easier said than done. Like Geoffrey Watson I paid for one in November and since then have heard nothing -
not even any acknowledgement of them having received any of my ensuing communications.

Has anyone ordered and received a CD/ROM yet or received any communication whatsoever from Miramar?

So, I wonder,  will we ship spotters be asked in the future to pay large amounts of money to view even the basic info on marinetraffic?

I feel disinclined to renew my subscription when the database is no longer being updated and while I am still waiting for the CD ROM for which I paid

No, but some decency does tend to go out of the window when people are paying money for things that don't materialise. Miramar was in fact a business.

@simonwp: presumably you haven't paid Miramar any money recently.

My account expired today and I am now denied access. Meanwhile I am still waiting for the CD I ordered and paid for in November.

I ordered and paid for a CD in November. It still hasn't arrived.

I occasionally look at the Airnav 'plane plotter site (owner of this site) for aircraft flying over my home, which happens to be near the River Thames. In the past few days, some ships have begun appearing on it as well as aircraft.

Hi, Bob
I have permanently switched-off my ad blocker on this site and don't have any more problems. However I do get ads. This morning I had one with scantily-clad young ladies. Not what I want to see on a site about ships
