I have done some digging to figure out the fate of this vessel but have had little luck so far. What I do know is that ownership of the vessel was taken over by McKeil Marine Ltd. from Algoma Central Corp. in early 2017, and she was laid up in Toronto in March of that same year, having not moved since.

A little over a week ago, Boatnerd website posted a news update stating that the vessel

I don't think there is any scrapping capacity in Ceuta. Probably Ceuta is just a bunker stop enroute Aliaga, Turkey.

Thank-you for the information. There will need to be some work done to allow for ocean travel. It looks like she is leaving the Great Lakes!

Just left Toronto presumably for the last time. Destination Halifax. Under new flag St Vincent Grenadines. Nice to see her go under her own power.

The cycle of life. Perhaps some of her steel will go back into another vessel. I was told by a Coast Guard Capt. that this vessel was the fastest on the Great Lakes at one time. She also has some tragedy in her history.

Stephen B Roman now headed towards Bermuda, according to AIS.
She never actually docked in Halifax, only met with the launcher Eastcom, assumingly to drop off Canadian crew that assisted navigation through Canadian waters. Redwise is the Dutch ship delivery company that has been providing proper management and crew for the voyage.

Anyone know why she would be headed to Bermuda if she was bound for scrap? Is there a scrapper in Bermuda or somewhere else in that general southern direction that she

The consensus in the thread above is that she is enroute Aliaga with bunkering stops along the way.

Perhaps safer way across winter North Atlantic via Bermuda, St Vincent or Azores.
On the other hand, there are shipbreakers in Dominican Rep and in Cuba.

Headed east, currently pointed at the Med. with no new destination.

Destination Aliaga. SteKrueBe, Tristin Woolf and rd77 guessed it correct.

I checked the AIS and it shows that as of 4 hours ago, she had officially been beached. Prior to being beached, she had been sitting in anchorage for a couple days.

There is a very interesting (or sad, depending on how you look at this) video of her being beached on instagram, via user: akansavas - https://www.instagram.com/akansavas/?hl=en (https://www.instagram.com/akansavas/?hl=en)
In my opinion, sad to see this vessel's demise, I caught a brief sight of her about 17 years ago inwinter lay-up at Toronto, whilst on a college trip to the CN Tower (which for me served as an excellent vantage point to see the ships in the port).
