Come on guys, post your local events for others to see, such as these sailing vessels that "sailed" from Ipswich this morning.
-
A week ago, Robert Smith asked for details of local events. Well, here's one. The South West Ship Show to be help on 28th April. Not in Portishead this year but at the BAWA Club in North Bristol. I've found the details here: https://www.mainlineandmaritime.co.uk/pages/south-west-ship-show

Thanks coastwatcher, maybe there should be a thread for up coming events.
Regards
Bob

You got it, Bob.
I've made it "sticky" so it will stay at the top of the pile.
Contributions welcome from all parts of the world.

Blackwater 7 July 2018
Thames 21 July 2018
Swale 4 August 2018

I've been told that there will be NO parade of sail this year >:(

As I type this, I can see STAD AMSTERDAM passsing Gravesend heading upriver, presumably for this event.
-
Hi Bob, Stad Amsterdam is going on Tilbury Stage before heading up to St Georges Stairs on the 5th. Sail Greenwich is in July.
Not a lot of info concerning Sail Greenwich at the moment, their website says only one ship confirmed .... maybe why no parade of sail :)

How do you feel about event in other countries? For example, there is the Tall Ships Festival in Brockville, Ontario, which will host, among others, the Bluenose II replica schooner, the famous Nao Santa Maria replica, the schooner Empire Sandy, the brigantines Fair Jeanne and Black Jack, the clipper Pride of Baltimore II, the barque Picton Castle, along with several other private tall ships and Coast Guard vessels.
They will all be in Brockville from August 30 until September 1.
Read all the details here:

Thanks MR. That's exactly what this trhread is for.
Hopefully you will bring us some some fine photos, for those who cannot just "pop over".
I have long had a soft spot for the former WW2 tug EMPIRE SANDY. Her second life under sail has now lasted longer than her time as a naval and commercial tug.
