I think it's possible. Not very likely, but possible. But considering there's probably quite a few rats onboard, would anyone want to board her.

But you raise an interesting (at least to me) question: if her engines were operational why tow her in the first place?

Oldkayaker,

You keep referring to some posting program and that there are different versions of it. What posting program is that? When uploading photos we all go to the same page using the same stuff to upload our photos.

Is the "date added" really of that importance? To me the important date is the date the photo was captured. Not when it was actually added (unless it shows to have been added before it was captured :D )

Regards
Lars

I found this article, but I don't know how to translate it.

I don't know any Icelandic, but it seems to be a confirmation that the "report" on April 1st was an Aprils Fools joke.

Interesting comparison, Denis. I have often wondered why ships can't be profitable and beautiful. Why does one have to exclude the other? Well, I guess beauty really is in the eye of the beer holder ...errr... beholder. :)

I actually like Norwegian Breakaway. It's a very nice looking ship except for the graphics which seen from a distance looks like somebody used her for paintball practice :D
As for Norwegian Epic... No comment! ;D

To bring this thread (somewhat) back to the initial topic: a list of admins. I don't see any need fr such a list. If a photo is deleted it doesn't really matter who did it. It would, however, be interesting to know if we have any possibility to appeal the verdict, and, if so, how we go about doing that.

On the subject of lists. A far more useful, and helpful, list would be one of the various reasons for deletion. Yes, I know most of them can be found in the FAQ, but as Sinisa pointed out many new members don't bother reading the FAQ. There also seems to be some new, or altered, criteria for deletion not covered by the FAQ.

A new partition to this forum could be set up and used by the administration to post news and updates to the site as well as additions to and alterations of the regulations for deletions.

Help and Advice / Re: Heavily photoshopped photos
« on: March 22, 2013, 11:39:15 PM »
Hi,

Since I often under-expose my photos I use Photoshop to get as close to the real look as possible. I also add a touch of sharpening. This kind of post processing is fine. The kind shown in the posted examples here is not.

The first image is heavily over-saturated making it look very unreal. I think it's also over sharpened as I see halos around the edges.
The second image is actually very well done, but IMHO it belongs on a site displaying maritime art rather than on a site like this one.

MOURMOURA (IMO 9496642) has been renamed FLAG HOPE. Still under LIberia flag but apparently with new call sign: D5DW5 (old call sign was A8OM6)

Late last night the Danish coaster NINA BRES (IMO 9394260) ran aground outside the village of Fortuna just south of Helsingborg. The preliminary report stated technical problems as the cause of the grounding. Now, however, the human factor is suspected to be the culprit.

Info from our local newspapaper, Helsingborgs Dagblad (in Swedish)

Same over here too. When I finally got here today I saw no indications of the site having been down.
Luckily there were other sites with ships :)
